Kankaanpää - enjoy the best of country and town living!
Kankaanpää with its population of nearly 13 000, is a lively small centre for trade and education as well as the administrative and commercial heart of the area of northern part of Satakunta region.
Here you can find peaceful countryside with attractive old wooden houses in multiple colours spotting the scenery formed by lakes, rivers, isles of dark green forests and fields - the immense green , blue and white of Finland! You can find a nice town centre with all the services reachable in five minutes. We have made a significant contribution to services and thought the best of inhabitants of Kankaanpää and all the travellers we have pleasure to accommodate!
Brick manufacturing has been an important part of life in our town for several generations. Therefore, brick architecture is visibly dominant in the town landscape. We have chosen to respect the choice of our ancestors and realize public buildings, block houses and detached houses mainly in red bricks, but also in other shades. Brick means strength and timeless utility being pleasant to the eye from decade to decade! We have wanted to maintain appeal of small , green town full of parks ! Thanks to this our city has been awarded with SAFA prize for good town planning.
In our small town you can still find the human scale of living amidst nature – all of us can start jogging or skiing as we step out of the door!
