The Kankaanpää tourism and service map is distributed to every home

tourism and service map

The new tourism and service map of Kankaanpää will be published in late March or early April. The map, produced in collaboration with the Kankaanpää Youth Chamber of Commerce and the City of Kankaanpää, will be distributed by post to every home in the Kankaanpää area. The map will also be available at participating businesses and city offices, as well as at upcoming events.

The goal of the project, which started in the fall of 2020, was to create a map that serves as a guide to the service offerings in the Kankaanpää area. Its purpose is to give visibility to businesses in the area and make it easier to find services.

– Companies welcomed the idea and were happy to participate in the service map. The map has reached companies from different industries and this way we got the most diverse offer of services found in the city, without forgetting the tourism companies in our local area, says the project manager of the Kankaanpää Youth Chamber of Commerce, the 2021 chairman Inka-Maria Halminen.

– We also tried to react to the feedback we received on social media and added an accessibility symbol to the map, which could be used to indicate barrier-free movement in the company, continues Halminen. – The service map was given the color of the city and the map's appearance has been kept clear and easy to read.

Kankaanpää's diverse service offering showcased

For the city, publishing the map is part of developing tourism marketing, but the tourism and service map is a good tool to highlight diverse companies and other service providers to locals as well.

– We hope that the map will serve both local residents of Kankaanpää as well as tourists and other visitors to the city, says the city's marketing and communications manager. Johanna Luotolinna. – We have a diverse range of specialty stores for our size, and hopefully this map will help more people find it.

– Cooperation with the city has been very smooth and we hope that our cooperation will continue, says Halminen. – Implementing the service map came at a good time for us. Due to the current situation, it is currently impossible to implement events. However, we were able to keep the membership active thanks to the service map project. We would like to thank the city and all the companies that participated in the implementation of the service map!
