The Christmas Mail for the Elderly campaign collected a whopping 1172 Christmas cards in Kankaanpää

Finland's happiest and most touching Christmas card campaign collected no less than 1172 Christmas cards for the elderly in Kankaanpää. The creative care community Siskot ja Simot and its partners organized a nationwide Christmas Mail for the Elderly campaign from November 4.11 to December 6.12.2024, 153 simultaneously in XNUMX locations. The campaign collected Christmas cards for elderly customers of home care and housing services.

Kankaanpää participated in the campaign for the fifth time and, as in previous years, a new record was set in the number of cards. This time, the record was clearly broken, as last year's number was 761.

– The number of cards collected is so large that there is enough to distribute again to housing service units and home care customers in the entire Northern Satakunta region, not just Kankaanpää. Thank you to everyone who made the cards, to our city's libraries for receiving the cards, and to the elderly services in the Satakunta welfare area for distributing them, says the Marketing and Communications Manager of the City of Kankaanpää. Leena Kuusimäki.

The nationwide Christmas Mail for Seniors campaign collected a total of 120 Christmas cards for seniors this year. People of all ages participated in the card collection, and for many families or communities, participating has become an expected tradition.

– The number of Christmas cards is a record and shows people's desire to make the elderly happy, to be involved in doing good for the community and to share the good Christmas spirit. A warm thank you to everyone who sent a card and participated in organizing the activity, says the executive director of Siskoji ja Simoji Hanna Simola.

In addition to local authorities, the partners of the Christmas Mail for the Elderly campaign were the Association of Local Authorities, the Association of Civic Colleges and the Kansalaisereena.
