An application for early childhood education for a child under school age must be submitted no later than four months before the desired start date of early childhood education. If the need for early childhood education is due to employment, studies, training or a move to another municipality for work or studies and the start date of the need is not predictable, the place must be applied for as soon as possible, but no later than two weeks before the child needs the place. If the child is already in early childhood education (family day care/daycare), a new application does not need to be submitted. A new application must only be completed if a transfer to another unit or from family day care to daycare is being applied for.

Private early childhood education service providers

The city of Kankaanpää uses an early childhood education service voucher. The service voucher is equated with early childhood education organized by the municipality, and a child cannot receive child home care allowance, private care allowance, or municipal early childhood education at the same time.

The service voucher must be applied for according to the same deadlines (4 months / 2 weeks) as municipal early childhood education.

Caregivers pay a client fee to the private service provider. The fee is the same as in municipal early childhood education.

Preschool education

Children born in 2017 are entitled to preschool education. In addition, 7-year-olds whose school start date has been postponed by a year and 5-year-olds who are subject to extended compulsory education are also entitled to preschool education.

The preschool semester begins on Thursday, August 10.8.2023, XNUMX. Preschool education is free of charge and is provided in the above-mentioned daycare centers. If a child also needs early childhood education in addition to preschool education, an electronic early childhood education application must also be completed. The launch of preschool groups in all of the above-mentioned locations can only be confirmed when the number of children registered for the groups is known.

In Honkajoki, preschool education is implemented under the supervision of basic education at Hongo School, and club activities that supplement preschool education are implemented at Puukoulu. In Honkajoki, guardians will be informed separately about registration for preschool education.
