The transition period for the notification obligation regarding the keeping of equines and holdings is ending. If the holding of equines has not been previously registered, the information must be reported for entry in the register by 31.12.2020 December XNUMX.

The reporting obligation applies to those who keep even one horse, pony, donkey or crossbreed of these.

The Finnish Food Authority's electronic service for registering horse holdings is temporarily closed and will not reopen until 2021. For now, notifications regarding animal keeping and holdings are made using a form to the municipal rural economy authority.

A notification must be made to the Regional State Administrative Agency in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act regarding the keeping of equines on a professional or other large scale. The places notified to the Regional State Administrative Agency have already been entered into the register and do not need to be notified separately.
