North Satakunta continues to provide clarifications on activities for under-12s and upper secondary school teaching during the coronavirus outbreak

The Satakunta Regional Infectious Disease Control Working Group (ATTR) met on 11.2.2021 February 27.1 and stated that Satakunta is in the acceleration phase, but Rauma and North Satakunta continue to be in the spread phase. A total of 39 infections have been detected in the North Satakunta Primary Service Municipal Association (PoSa) area since 157 January. XNUMX exposed people have been placed in quarantine. The majority of infections and exposures are related to the infection chain that originated in Karvia.

ATTR kept the current recommendations and restrictions largely unchanged. The section on recreational activities for children and young people was clarified in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Welfare's guidelines. In addition, according to the clarified instructions received from THL, discretion can also be used in the implementation of some measures in areas in the spread phase, if the area examined is larger and there are differences between municipalities.

The municipal leaders of the North Satakunta region, the management team of the City of Kankaanpää, and Margit Seppälä, the chief physician responsible for infectious diseases at PoSa, assessed the situation for the entire North Satakunta region at a meeting held on Friday, February 12.2.2021, XNUMX. The measures in force in the region will be clarified based on the recommendations and instructions received.

The measures are valid until 28.2.2021 February 18.2.2021 and ATTR will review the situation next time on Thursday 5.3.2021 February XNUMX. The measures will most likely continue over the winter holidays. Therefore, in the North Satakunta region, the measures and recommendations are valid until the next situation review, which will be held on Friday XNUMX March XNUMX. If necessary, information will also be provided after the ATTR meeting next week.

This press release provides more detailed information about the upcoming coronavirus measures for the city of Kankaanpää. Other municipalities in the PoSa area will provide information about their own detailed measures on their own websites (links at the end of the press release).

Clarifications to previous measures regarding Kankaanpää

  • The Kankaanpää Yhteislyseo upper secondary education will be organized using municipal discretion in accordance with the specified instructions of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. The Kankaanpää unit of the Lyceum will be in hybrid distance learning for week 7, i.e. from 15 to 19.2.2021 February 1, so that two age groups at a time will be in face-to-face teaching and one group at a time will be in distance learning on alternate days. For the Honkajoki unit, the 2st and XNUMXnd year students must continue in distance learning until the end of February. The school is currently operating in temporary facilities and teaching cannot currently be organized in these facilities with sufficient safety distances. Necessary teaching can be implemented as face-to-face learning according to the instructions, and this is how it will be done for high school graduates in both units. The Yhteislyseo will inform students about more detailed instructions.
  • ATTR specified the recommendations related to recreational activities for children under 12 years of age. Exercises involving close contact are also permitted among children under 12 years of age within their own group or team. Competitions or performances for the public should not be organized. The possibility of allowing matches and competitive activities is assessed weekly. Matches and competitions within the city of residence are permitted, but for the time being, due to the spread phase situation in South and North Satakunta, match and competitive activities are not permitted in the area, which would increase tourism in the area. It is still recommended to organize recreational activities outdoors whenever possible. NOTE! There are no group size restrictions for group activities for those under 12. For group activities for those aged 12-20, the group size is limited to 10 people.

Other current recommendations remain unchanged, including the use of masks, remote working, gathering restrictions, etc.

Municipal residents are also recommended to follow the information from PoSa and Satasairaala on the subject:

Current information regarding the corona vaccination situation will be available on PoSa's website. Social and healthcare staff and residents of home care and housing services are currently being vaccinated. PoSa will provide information on the progress of the vaccinations as needed.

Continue to take care of hygiene, get tested immediately if you have symptoms

To limit the spread of the epidemic, the following important measures must still be remembered: wearing a mask, good hand and cough hygiene, safe distances, reducing contact and unnecessary movement. Downloading the Koronavilkku application to your phone is highly recommended.

You should seek a corona test as soon as mild symptoms appear. In Kankaanpää, call PoSa's flu clinic immediately at tel. 02 577 3265, where you will receive a sample collection time and arrival instructions. The flu clinic's telephone advice is open Mon-Fri 8 am-16 pm and Sat-Sun 9 am-15 pm. The flu clinic's sample collection is carried out in Kankaanpää at the basic service center in Tapala, visiting address Ihanakallionkatu 4. The sample collection is carried out separately from other emergency patients.
