Satakunta has returned to the acceleration phase – middle schools and Kankaanpää upper secondary school education are returning to face-to-face teaching

The Satakunta Regional Infectious Disease Control Working Group (ATTR) met on 25.3.2021 March XNUMX and stated that Satakunta has entered the acceleration phase. However, the improved situation may deteriorate rapidly if precautions are not taken. Of particular concern is the serious situation in Southwest Finland and the spread of mutant viruses also to Satakunta.

During the last review period (10–23.3.2021 March 92), there have been a total of 42,7 cases in the entire Satakunta region (incidence 100 / 000 / 14 days). There have been 4 infections in Kankaanpää in the area of the North Satakunta Basic Services Joint Municipal Authority (PoSa) during the review period.

In accordance with the government's policy, the restrictions and recommendations are in full force in Satakunta, and ATTR is lifting them moderately and gradually, closely monitoring the situation.

The municipal leaders of the North Satakunta region, the management team of the City of Kankaanpää, and Margit Seppälä, the chief physician responsible for infectious diseases at PoSa, assessed the situation for the entire North Satakunta region at a meeting held on Friday, May 26.3.2021, 9.4.2021. The next situation review will be held on Friday, May XNUMX, XNUMX.

This bulletin provides information on the status of corona measures and upcoming changes for the city of Kankaanpää. Other municipalities in the PoSa area will provide information about their own detailed measures on their websites (links at the end of the bulletin).

Coronavirus measures of the City of Kankaanpää

Early childhood education and primary schools

Primary schools will continue with face-to-face teaching and early childhood education and preschool will continue as normal. ATTR recommends ensuring that there is no contact between different groups. Mask recommendations remain unchanged.

Secondary schools

The Regional State Administrative Agency's (AVI) order on distance learning in upper secondary schools expires on March 28.3.2021, 29.3.2021. There are no epidemiological grounds for extending the order, so upper secondary schools will return to face-to-face teaching starting March XNUMX, XNUMX.

Upper secondary education

ATTR recommends that upper secondary school education gradually transition to face-to-face teaching. However, for Kankaanpää Yhteislyseo and Honkajoki upper secondary school, the Kankaanpää management team and the chief physician of PoSa made a decision that deviated from ATTR's recommendation, according to which face-to-face teaching can be transitioned from 29.3.2021 March XNUMX. The decision took into account the local situation and the upper secondary schools' possibilities to organize teaching while observing safety distances and other precautions. Matriculation examinations will continue in accordance with the corona guidelines.

Exercise facilities

The closure of public spaces will continue until 11.4.2021 April 12. The Kankaanpää sports centre and the Honkala multi-purpose centre are closed. However, sports facilities (including the swimming pool) are in limited use for school groups, for leisure activities for children aged XNUMX and under, and for separately defined training activities (e.g. Finnish Championship level training). See more detailed recommendations for leisure activities later in the announcement.

City library

The closure of public spaces will continue until April 11.4.2021, XNUMX. The City Library will continue to operate in the form of a reserve and pick-up service at both the main library and the Honkajoki Library. The library facilities are otherwise closed.

The closure of public spaces will continue until April 11.4.2021, XNUMX. The City Museum is closed for exhibition activities. The museum's information service is available during office hours by email and telephone.

Youth facilities

The closure of public spaces will continue until April 11.4.2021, XNUMX. The youth center Ketun Golo and Honkala are closed. Youth services are available online in various forms.

Other city facilities and services

Other city facilities and office doors, including City Hall, are closed. City staff are working remotely where possible in accordance with the Government's recommendations. It is recommended that all interactions with city employees be handled by phone and email.

Other current recommendations

Hobby activity

Adult leisure activities

ATTR recommends that adult recreational activities be suspended throughout Satakunta from March 1.3 to April 18.4.2021, XNUMX. Private operators are also recommended to follow the recommendations.

Children's and youth leisure activities

The suspension of recreational activities for those over 12 years of age will continue until April 11.4.2021, 12. Children under XNUMX years of age are still allowed to participate in activities according to the previously issued instructions: no competitions or performances for the public will be organized, matches and competitions will be held within the city of residence, and recreational activities will be organized outdoors if possible.

The recommendation for recreational activities does not apply to national team activities in individual or team sports, Finnish Championship and Division I level competition and training activities, and professional training aimed at reaching the international peak.

Working remotely

ATTR recommends that the Government's guidelines on teleworking be applied as widely as possible in Satakunta, meaning that employees of both the public sector and private employers work remotely as widely as possible, if the work tasks allow it, and that workplaces promote work arrangements that reduce close contact and other risk factors.

Travel recommendation

ATTR recommends avoiding unnecessary travel. The Let's stay in the family circle campaign has been launched in cooperation with the municipalities of Satasairaala and the Satakunta region, encouraging people to keep contact to a minimum.

Mask recommendation

ATTR strongly recommends the widespread use of face masks throughout Satakunta, in accordance with the broadest recommendation from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. The recommendation applies to all residents of the Satakunta area over the age of 12, as well as the following groups: students under the age of 12, if the school has so-called shared classes, where younger students study in the same room as 12-year-olds, and students under the age of 12 on school transport, if they are accompanied by students aged 12 or older on the same transport.

Public events

AVI's currently valid decision to limit public gatherings to six people is valid until April 26.4.2021, XNUMX.

Private events

In private gatherings, ATTR recommends refraining from gatherings of more than six people until April 18.4.2021, XNUMX.

Regulations of the Regional State Administrative Agency in Satakunta

The prevention of close contacts (TTL § 58 d) is valid until 5.4.2021 April XNUMX by decision of the Finnish Health Insurance Authority.

Section 147 c of the Infectious Diseases Act (2021/58) obliges operators to take measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, such as providing handwashing facilities in facilities open to the public or intended for a limited number of customers or participants, the possibility of maintaining safety distances, instructions on preventive measures, and cleaning of facilities until 30.6.2021 June XNUMX.
