Satakunta's health authorities and municipalities are challenging all residents of Satakunta to join a joint campaign aimed at stopping the coronavirus. You can participate in the campaign, for example, by sharing banners on social media or via email.

The idea for the campaign was born in the regional infectious disease control working group. The campaign will start this week and will last for approximately three weeks until Sunday, March 14.3.2021, XNUMX.

The Stay in the Family campaign aims to have an encouraging impact on the behavior of all Satakunta residents. The campaign will be implemented mainly on social media to spread the word quickly. For example, you can choose from a Facebook frame and banners in different language versions that are easy to share on social media.

We have been living with the coronavirus for over a year now, and the spread situation in Satakunta has fluctuated between the basic phase, the acceleration phase, and the spread phase. When the Stay in the Family campaign began, the entire Satakunta region was in the spread phase and the coronavirus situation was difficult. The incidence rate is the second highest in Finland after the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Of particular concern are mutant viruses, which spread more easily than the basic virus. No significant increase in mutant viruses has yet been detected in Satakunta, but the strains are already prevalent in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

– It is understandable that people are starting to get numb to the constant instructions and recommendations, but now we should still be able to persevere and, if possible, refine our own methods to be safer, because these are crucial weeks in terms of stopping the spread of the virus, says the father of the campaign idea, the Chief Medical Officer Peter Lankinen says.

Doctor responsible for assessing the epidemic situation in Satakunta Raija Uusitalo-Seppälän believes that reducing contact and taking precautions is now critical, as it is important to get the situation under control before our healthcare system is overwhelmed. The spread of the epidemic depends on all of us.

– If we all limit our contact to essential and only to close friends for the next three weeks, we still have a chance to turn this situation around, Raija Uusitalo-Seppälä encourages.

According to Satakunta health authorities, the risk of infection has increased in Satakunta and it is very important to be able to prevent the spread of infections to the elderly and other risk groups.
