On March 16.3, the Finnish government outlined additional measures to manage the coronavirus situation in Finland. The city of Kankaanpää announced its own measures after this. On Tuesday, March 17.3, the city's various administrative branches clarified the details of the measures, which are as follows:

Early childhood education

• The necessary early childhood education is currently organized in family day care and in all kindergartens.
• Early childhood education is organized in such a way that activities are possible in groups of less than 10 people.

Basic education

• Contact education is organized for those eligible for it both at Keskusta School (Keskusta School students) and at Kangasmetsä School (Kangasmetsä students and village school students).
• School transportation is arranged for students who are covered by transportation even under normal circumstances.
• Teaching and transportation are organized in such a way that activities are possible in groups of less than 10 people.
• Schools that offer education organize meals for students attending face-to-face classes. Meals are organized in stages so that groups that eat are groups of less than 10 people. School meals are not organized for students in distance learning.
• Communication with those in distance learning will primarily take place through Wilma. It is hoped that guardians will also download the Wilma mobile application to their phones if possible. Teachers will inform guardians of their own class about the practices for organizing distance learning.

Other city functions

• City Hall and other city offices are generally closed and city employees are working remotely. The city asks that all business transactions be conducted primarily by phone or email instead of in-person. Necessary meetings will be arranged at discretion by appointment. • People in critical functions (e.g. water supply) will continue their work as normal, observing the rule of gatherings of fewer than 10 people.
• City council meetings are generally canceled and only essential meetings will be held remotely, if possible.

The city is investigating possible arrangements for services and other assistance for those in quarantine or quarantine-like conditions in Kankaanpää. More information will be provided on Wednesday, March 18.3.

The information is constantly being refined and the city is actively following the instructions of the authorities. The city's management team will meet remotely if necessary.
