Christmas cards

Finland's happiest and most touching Christmas card campaign collected no less than 1046 Christmas cards for the elderly in Kankaanpää. The creative care community Siskot ja Simot and its partners organized a nationwide Christmas Mail for the Elderly campaign from November 3 to December 4, 2025 simultaneously in 175 locations. The campaign collected Christmas cards for elderly customers of home care and housing services.

Kankaanpää participated in the campaign for the sixth time and once again the number of copies reached a fantastic level of over a thousand.

– Our large number of cards is enough to be distributed to home care clients in Kankaanpää as well as other municipalities in Northern Satakunta, and also to some housing service units. Thank you to everyone who made the cards, to our city's libraries for receiving the cards, and to the elderly services in the Satakunta welfare area for distributing them, says the Marketing and Communications Manager of the City of Kankaanpää. Leena Kuusimäki.

This year, the Christmas Cards for the Elderly campaign collected over 120,000 Christmas cards for the elderly across Finland.

– The number of Christmas cards is large and it shows people's desire to make the elderly happy, to be involved in doing good for the community and to share the good Christmas spirit. A warm thank you to everyone who sent a card and participated in organizing the activity, says the executive director of the Sisters and Brothers Association. Hanna Simola.

In addition to localities, the partners of the Christmas Post for the Elderly campaign were the Association of Local Authorities, the Association of Community Colleges, the Kansalaisereena and the Tammenlehvän Heritage Association.
