A job well done and a positive attitude deserve praise and recognition. The city of Kankaanpää traditionally awarded its employee of the year at its staff party on Friday, November 23.11.

The Technical Center Facilities Manager was chosen as Employee of the Year 2018. Pentti Saloniemi.

The following was stated as justification for Pentti's choice:

+ Pentti is very professional, fast and efficient. He is always cheerful and has a positive attitude. Reliable, nice and yet firm.

+ The best manager I've ever met in my career.

+ Good and professional approach to work, does what he promises.

+ Hardworking and knowledgeable. Gets along with everyone, and always gives quick and clear answers to questions.

The Employee/Work Community of the Year award is a prestigious recognition.  

The Employee/Work Community of the Year is selected annually in the Kankaanpää City organization. The selection is a recognition of work well done and meritorious activities in one's own work community. According to the criteria, the Employee/Work Community of the Year manages their work well, develops their work, produces results, develops the workplace atmosphere, and is customer-oriented.

For the selection, all personnel are allowed to submit their proposals by the deadline. The cooperation committee will select the best from the submitted proposals, and the final selection will be made by the mayor after consulting the cooperation committee on the proposals received. The prize for an individual employee or work community is a spa gift card worth 500 euros.

The city's staff party also included commemorative employee badges. Four people celebrated their 40th anniversary in the city, 30 celebrated their 15th anniversary, and ten celebrated their 20th anniversary.
