The City of Kankaanpää is launching the Kankaanpää mobile application, which is aimed at both residents and visitors to the city. The application offers a convenient way to stay up to date with the city's events, news and other local offerings.

In addition to city bulletins, the application offers news from the Kankaanpää Region and Yle, and you can follow the local television broadcast of the Northern Satakuntan Regional Network. The application also includes, among other things, an event and hobby calendar, lunch menus from local restaurants, recycling points, sports facilities, works by the Art Circle, and useful links. You can save your own electronic library card in the application, and use it to search for library materials.

The mobile app also includes coupons from local businesses that are only available to app users. Businesses and associations alike have the opportunity to update their benefits, events and lunch menus on the app free of charge.

The idea for the mobile application came from the city's innovation working group, after which the application working group took responsibility for the content design and maintenance. Content wishes were also determined through a survey. Aline Creative Technology Studio Oy from Pori is responsible for the technical implementation.

-The Kankaanpää application enhances the city's external communications. Users can be sent announcements in real time. We also conduct short surveys in the application and collect user feedback. The content is constantly being developed, says the city's marketing and communications manager Leena Kuusimäki.

The mobile application is free and available for iOS and Android devices. It uses location services and requires a network connection to function. The application can be used without registering, but then you will not be able to use all the features. The application is available for download from the App Store and Google Play and can be found under the name Kankaanpää. The application icon was designed by Sonja Kujanpää.
