A new development project has been launched in North Satakunta, aiming to support the region's SMEs on their journey towards a sustainable, competitive and low-carbon future.
The Renewable Economy as a Growth Compass in Northern Satakunta project will be implemented from 1 March 2025 to 31 May 2026, and its target group is companies operating in the Kankaanpää, Jämijärvi, Karvia and Siikainen areas. The project is driven by the desire to support SMEs in their green transition – not only in terms of responsibility, but also in finding new business opportunities.
The goal is a sustainable and vibrant business environment
At the core of the project is the idea of a regenerative economy, where business supports the well-being of the environment and does not exhaust its resources.
In practice, this can mean, for example:
- utilizing circular economy solutions
- improving energy efficiency
- taking natural ecosystems into account in business decisions
- developing new types of service and production concepts
The goal is for companies to not only reduce their own carbon footprint, but also to distinguish themselves in the market as responsible operators.
What does the project offer to companies?
Companies can receive free advice and sparring through the project. Training and workshops on sustainable development themes are planned for autumn 2025.
We provide assistance and advice in applying for financing for company-specific development and investment activities.
Comprehensive stakeholder collaboration provides opportunities for networking with other companies, research institutes, and stakeholders.
The project also aims to compile and share best practices on how sustainable business can be implemented regionally – practically and effectively.
Influence the fall training!
Training courses are being planned for companies in North Satakunta, with topics chosen based on the wishes of the entrepreneurs. By answering the survey by the end of August – it only takes a few minutes – you can influence the content of future training courses.
Funding
The project is funded by the Central Finland ELY Centre, which grants a maximum of 80% of the approved costs. The remaining 20% will be covered by municipal funding from Kankaanpää, Jämijärvi, Karvia and Siikainen.
