The LiikUn Cycling Challenge campaign has been organized in Satakunta for over 30 years and in Southwest Finland for over 20 years. The aim of the campaign has been to encourage cycling with a low threshold, and to increase awareness of the health and environmental benefits of cycling. The current campaign has collected over 22 million kilometers over the past ten years.

– The campaign is an excellent way to support the European Parliament and Commission's goal of doubling cycling kilometres by 2030. It requires action and cooperation at both the municipal and provincial levels in developing conditions, promoting communication, and supporting services, says Juha Koskelo, developer of healthy exercise at LiikU.

The campaign encourages people of all ages and levels in southwestern Finland to exercise, and the data is collected free of charge by Moving throughout the year mobile application, which works on smartphone, tablet and computer.

LiikU Challenge Cycling campaign is organized 1.5.-23.6.2024 and you can make entries while cycling on different bikes, such as electric bikes, mountain bikes, city bikes, hybrid bikes, cyclocross bikes, box bikes, adaptive exercise bikes, tandem bikes, kick bikes, according to your own mileage goals.

There are three series in the municipal competition, under 5000 inhabitants, and under and over 10 inhabitants, of which Kankaanpää competes in the series for large municipalities, i.e. over 000 inhabitants. As a rule, entries are made via an application, which sends the marked kilometers directly to the campaign website for the municipal ranking. The Challenge Cycling campaign is organized in cooperation with LiikU and the sports activities of the participating municipalities. LiikU and the municipalities will draw prizes among all participants, and the winners will be notified separately.
