Properties with at least 5 apartments
Waste management for properties with at least five apartments
The transportation of bio and packaging waste from properties with at least 5 apartments located in the Kankaanpää urban areas has moved from waste transportation organized by the property owner to waste transportation organized and tendered by the city in April-May 2024. The maintenance of containers, markings, and the cleanliness of the property's waste point and access to the point will continue to be the responsibility of the property.
In properties with at least 5 apartments, in addition to mixed waste, bio- and packaging waste, i.e. cardboard, plastic and glass packaging, as well as small metals, must be sorted separately, which will be transported in waste transport organized by the city.
Paper collection continues as stipulated in Section 49(2) and Section 50 of the Waste Act, i.e. it is the responsibility of a housing company located in an urban area to arrange a collection device and location for paper collection. The housing company may purchase or notify the Finnish Waste Paper Producer Organization of the paper collection container it has purchased. The operator of the Finnish Waste Paper Producer Organization is Stena Recycling.
Waste transportation for properties with at least five apartments in urban areas in the option year from 1 January 2026:
| Waste fraction / Urban area | All settlements |

| Packaging waste (glass, cardboard, plastic and metal packaging) | Kankaanpään Jätehuolto Jussila Oy |

| Mixed waste | Waste transportation purchased by the property itself |
Garbage emptying schedule
Communications regarding transport, for example ordering additional emptyings, are made between the property and the waste transport company, the emptying interval can be in accordance with waste management regulations at the latest. Initially, the emptying interval for bio-waste and plastic and cardboard packaging is 2 weeks, and for metal and glass packaging 12 weeks.
Missing waste containers will be charged a waste fee equal to the smallest waste container.

| Plastic packaging | Fridays of odd-numbered weeks |
| Cardboard packaging | Fridays of even-numbered weeks |
| Glass packaging | Wednesdays 2026 in weeks 5, 17, 29, 41, 53 |
| Metal packaging | Thursdays 2026 in weeks 5, 17, 29, 41, 53 |
Bio and packaging waste processing
Separately collected biowaste is delivered to Gasum Oy Honkajoki for processing.
Packaging waste is delivered to the packaging producer community's reception terminal, from where the producer community delivers it to its own processing plants for processing into recycled materials. For example, glass packaging is processed in Forssa by Uusioaines Oy and fiber packaging (paper and cardboard) is processed in Pori for the production of new cardboard and paper.
