Kooninkeitaan waste charges for private customers
Kooninkeitaan waste fees for households
Waste fees for private individuals using the Kooninkeitaan sorting station
The fees apply to waste loads brought in by private individuals' cars, car trailers or vans.
The sale of paper waste fee tickets at the RiiCafe Oy, GT service station ended on 31 December 2025. From 12 January 2025, payment for waste loads brought from households will be made as a card payment to the sorting station operator when dealing with the Kooninkeita sorting station. Previously purchased paper waste fee tickets can still be used after the end of sales.
NOTE! There is no cash payment at the sorting station.

A waste fee based on volume or quantity will be charged for a private individual's mixed and construction waste load from January 12, 2026:
- Lowest fee for 1–2 garbage bags €5,00 (VAT 25,5%)
- 3–4 garbage bags €10,00 (VAT 25,5%)
- the volume of the waste load is a maximum of 3 m3 (car trailer) €20,00 (VAT 25,5%).
- If the trailer size is 3–5 m3, a double fee is charged, i.e. €40,00/load (VAT 25,5%).
The maximum size of a waste bag is 240 liters and the maximum weight is 20 kg/bag. If the waste is more than 5 m3, the load is weighed and the fee is determined based on the weight.
No fee is charged for recyclable metal, clean wood, cardboard, recycled paper, packaging plastic and recycled glass that are delivered to the sorting station sorted and separated from other waste.
For other separately designated waste fractions, a fee will be charged according to the sorting station services fee table starting from January 12, 2026:

Household hazardous waste
Sorted hazardous waste generated by households is accepted free of charge in reasonable quantities (up to approximately 50 kg per batch). However, asbestos, drums containing hazardous waste and portable fire extinguishers are subject to a fee according to the fee table above.
Pressure-treated wood is received within 1 m of households3 batches.
Pharmaceutical waste, medical needles and mercury meters are accepted at pharmacies.
Horizontal payment
A scale fee of €13,81 (VAT 25,5%) is charged for weighed waste loads received at the sorting station.
