Waste included in paper collection includes:
- advertising mail and envelopes (including those with windows)
- newspapers and magazines (remove cardboard or surface-treated covers for cardboard collection)
- writing, copying and graph paper
- telephone directories and product catalogs (remove cardboard or treated covers)
- paperbacks, books (remove covers)
- paper food packaging

Papers containing personal data and other private information can be disposed of either by shredding them yourself into mixed waste or, for large quantities of data protection paper, by purchasing a data protection paper destruction service from companies that offer it.
