Hazardous waste
Household hazardous waste is accepted free of charge all year round. At the Kooninkeita waste station during opening hours and at the Honkajoki wastewater treatment plant on Thursdays of even-numbered weeks from 13.30:15.30 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
Household hazardous waste received at the Honkajoki wastewater treatment plant:
- energy-saving lamps and fluorescent tubes
- waste oil, oil filters and other oily waste
- aerosol and spirit containers (propellant gas containers) that are not empty
- paints and glues
- pesticides
- portable batteries and accumulators
- as well as electrical and electronic waste, household appliances of all sizes, information technology
Household hazardous waste received at Kooninkeitaa:
- solvents (turpentine, thinner, acetone)
- alkaline waste, e.g. detergents, dishwasher detergent
- acid waste
- photographic chemicals
- pesticides
- Oil waste, e.g. waste oil, oil filters and other oily waste (portable size, no suction option)
- engine, transmission and lubricating oil waste
- washing and cleaning products that contain hazardous substances
- durable wood, impregnated wood, wood containing hazardous substances
Pharmaceutical waste and hazardous waste received at pharmacies
The handling of pharmaceutical waste is the responsibility of municipalities, and pharmacies are partners in the collection, receiving pharmaceutical waste, medical needle waste, mercury thermometers, and other hazardous waste related to healthcare.
Pharmacies receive, for example:
- medicines and bottles of liquid medicines
- syringes and needles (in a sealed jar or bottle)
- disinfectants

NOTE! Waste received at the pharmacy is NOT accepted at the Kooninkeitaan sorting station or the Honkajoki wastewater treatment plant!
The implementation of the hazardous waste collection truck tours will be announced in the Kankaanpää Region, on the Facebook page and on the city's website.
Sorted hazardous waste generated by households is accepted free of charge, with the exception of waste oil batches of more than 200 liters (water content less than 10%, does not contain solvents or other substances that hinder recovery).
The reception of waste oil batches exceeding 200 liters is agreed directly with the waste oil transport company.
