Kooninkeitaan sorting station
The Kooninkeitaan sorting station in Kankaanpää accepts private individuals' mixed municipal waste, hazardous waste, wood, paper, cardboard, metal, glass and window glass.
The sorting station is operated by Wattiway Oy from January 1, 2026.
Location of the Kooninkeitaan sorting station
When leaving the center of Kankaanpää, turn at the so-called lower intersection, i.e. the intersection of highway 23 and highway 44, in the direction of Pori. Drive along Porintie for about 2 kilometers and turn left at Ruusilantie.

Payment for waste batches at the sorting station from January 12, 2026
The sale of waste fee tickets ended on December 31, 2025 at RiiCafe Oy, GT service station. Starting January 12, 2026, waste items brought in by private households will be paid for as a card payment When shopping at the sorting station, there is no cash payment at the sorting station. Previously purchased waste fee tickets can still be used during 2026.
The price for mixed waste loads for small customers is volume-based and determined primarily for either large-sized or large quantities of mixed waste that do not fit in the mixed waste container of a residential property. According to Kankaanpää's waste management regulations, every residential and leisure property must be covered by waste management and arrange for the removal of mixed waste for the property.

Municipal obligation to arrange secondary waste management (Waste Act, Section 33)
According to the Waste Act, the fee for waste from private parties accepted for processing, which is suitable in quality and quantity for processing in the municipal waste management system, is determined based on the quality and quantity of the waste, if necessary, on a contract-specific basis.
If the waste management service is required continuously and regularly, the amount of which is at least €2000 per year, the waste holder must demonstrate the lack of supply of the waste management service through the Material Market.When the lack of service provision has been demonstrated, an agreement can be made between Pohjois-Satakunnan jätteidenkäsittely Oy and the waste holder on the municipality's secondary waste management service, the duration of which is a maximum of three years at a time.
