Detailed zoning plans

The local plan defines in detail the use of areas and the construction method, including building rights, building heights and the location of buildings on the plot. The local plan or an amendment to the local plan is prepared either at the initiative of the city or the landowners. Landowners are requested to submit zoning initiatives to the city in writing.

The plans are usually prepared by the planning office of the Urban Planning Centre, but for example, in waterfront plans and large partial master planning projects, external expert expertise can be used. The city of Kankaanpää has a total of 1079 ha of confirmed town plans.

Ak 5219 Hakakuja town plan amendment

The City Council has approved the Hakakuja section 38 local plan amendment at its meeting on 6 June 2026. The right of appeal for the local plan amendment is a municipal appeal. The approval decision made by the Council can be appealed to the Turku Administrative Court within 30 days.

The City Board decided at its meeting on March 9, 2026 to place the proposed Hakakuja section 74 urban plan on display for submission of statements and objections in accordance with Section 65 of the Local Planning Act and Section 27 of the MRA.

The draft plan was publicly displayed on the notice board of the Kankaanpää City Planning Office and on the city's website from 26 March to 13 April 2026. The draft plan was exceptionally displayed for 14 days under Section 27 of the MRA due to the minor impact of the plan.

Ak 5218 Local plan amendment for the intersection of Keskuskatu and Jämintie

The City Council decided to put the proposed local plan amendment for the intersection of Keskuskatu and Jämintie on display in accordance with AKL § 65 and MRA § 27. The authorities are requested to provide statements and interested parties have the opportunity to submit comments during the period of display of the plan. The local plan amendment will be on display from 11 June to 10 July 2026.

The Urban Planning Board approved the draft local plan amendment for the intersection of Keskuskatu and Jämintie and decided to display it at its meeting on March 24, 2026, § 25.

The City Council has approved the amendment to the local plan for Porhontie and the market area in Section 37 of the Honkajoki City Plan at its meeting on 6 June 2026. The right of appeal for the local plan amendment is a municipal appeal. The approval decision made by the Council can be appealed to the Turku Administrative Court within 30 days.

At its meeting on January 12, 2026, the City Board decided to make the proposed local plan for Porhontie and the market area in Honkajoki available for public viewing for 30 days in accordance with Section 12 of the Act on Urban Development and Urban Planning and Development (AKL) and Section 27 of the MRA.

The draft plan was on display from January 22 to February 19, 2026.

The change of the local plan concerning blocks 20 and 26 of the 1st district (Keskus) of the city of Kankaanpää. The change of the local plan area is the most central area of ​​Kankaanpää. Currently, the area is underused considering its central location. The area has disused buildings and other buildings in poor condition. The development of the area requires extensive and comprehensive ideation to find a suitable solution for the area. The area is well suited to various functions. Suitable functions include, for example, housing, business activities, public services and leisure activities.
