Road safety
Safe traffic is the result of many factors. Traffic accidents are caused by numerous factors related to the traffic environment, the vehicle and the user. Similarly, improving traffic safety requires the actions and close cooperation of many parties.
The main responsibility for planning measures to improve the traffic environment and implementing safe solutions lies with the city's technical center and the Southwest Finland Vitality Center. Land use planning affects the need for movement and the possibilities for safe movement in the long term.
The Kankaanpää traffic safety plan has been prepared as a joint project between the Southwest Finland ELY Centre and the municipalities of Northern Satakunta in cooperation with the Finnish Transport Safety Agency, the Police and the municipal traffic safety groups. Destia was responsible for preparing the plan. A survey was also conducted among the residents of each municipality to prepare the plan.
Regional traffic safety work continues as work coordinated by the Southwest Finland Vitality Centre in cooperation with the municipalities of North Satakunta.
