The task of environmental services is to prevent and reduce health hazards and harms resulting from the human environment and to promote the health and well-being of the population by monitoring and improving the health quality of the environment.

Environmental Health Care is responsible for the supervision, advisory and inspection tasks required by the Health Protection, Food, Hygiene, Consumer Safety, Tobacco, Veterinary Care and Animal Welfare Act in the Kankaanpää, Karvia, Jämijärvi, Pomarkku, Siikainen and Merikarvia areas.

Environmental protection is the improvement of the state of the environment and the prevention of pollution. Environmental protection includes water protection, air protection, soil and groundwater protection, noise prevention and waste reduction. The goal of environmental protection is to secure good living conditions for current and future generations.
