The role of veterinarians is to promote and maintain the health and well-being of animals and to prevent, alleviate and cure animal diseases. The work of veterinarians also includes the supervision of animal protection and primary production, and the fight against animal diseases.

Veterinary emergency

During the on-call hours on weekdays (4:00 PM – 8:00 AM) and weekends (Friday 4:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM), only patients in need of urgent veterinary care are treated.

The emergency service is divided among veterinarians so that there is a 24-hour emergency service in the area of ​​the joint municipal authority.

The emergency number is subject to a charge: €2,03/minute (+local network charge/mobile phone charge).

Statutory customer fees will be introduced in all veterinary services organized by municipalities from the beginning of 2026.
