Tobacco and nicotine preparations

The environmental services of the city of Kankaanpää monitor the sales of tobacco, nicotine liquids and other tobacco products, compliance with restrictions and smoking bans, and compliance with legislation in the Jämijärvi, Kankaanpää, Karvia, Merikarvia, Pomarkku and Siikainen areas. In addition, the sale of nicotine replacement products in retail stores, kiosks and gas stations selling tobacco, as well as in catering establishments, is monitored in accordance with the Medicines Act. Separate annual monitoring fees are charged for sales points in accordance with the Tobacco and Medicines Act, in accordance with the approved rate.

The sales permit for tobacco products, nicotine liquids and nicotine replacement products is issued by the authority of the municipality where the point of sale is located. The environmental services of the city of Kankaanpää issue permits in the areas of Jämijärvi, Kankaanpää, Karvia, Merikarvia, Pomarkku and Siikainen. The sales permit for tobacco products and nicotine liquids is applied for electronically using a form.

Nicotine replacement products intended for smoking cessation may be sold in pharmacies as well as in tobacco shops, petrol stations and kiosks. A marketing authorisation for nicotine products is applied for on a separate form. The holder of a marketing authorisation must notify the authority that granted the authorisation of any changes to the information or the cessation of sales, which will notify the Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea of ​​the changes.
