Environmental permits
An environmental permit is required for activities that pose a risk of environmental pollution. Annex 527 to the Environmental Protection Act (2014/1) defines the activities that require an environmental permit. The permit is issued by either the Environment and Health Board of the City of Kankaanpää or the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland, depending on the nature and scope of the activity.
The environmental permit application is submitted in triplicate to the issuing authority. Chapter 713 of the Government Decree on Environmental Protection (2014/XNUMX) stipulates the content of the permit application and the information to be attached to it. The environmental permit belonging to the Environment and Health Board is processed and prepared by the environmental services of the City of Kankaanpää.
The permit process is multi-stage, so it can take a long time to receive a decision from the Environmental and Health Board. The process includes, among other things, informing about the permit application by publishing it for at least 30 days. The decision made by the Environmental and Health Board is also published. The aim of the announcements is to ensure that interested parties have the opportunity to express their opinions on environmental permit applications and decisions. Announcements about pending environmental permit applications and visible permit decisions can be found on the city's website on the electronic notice board on the home page under "announcements".
