Inspired by true events, The President's Ride takes the viewer into the midst of the absurd events of 1930. During a heavy drinking night, a group of ambitious officers decide to kidnap the first president of Finland – the retired KJ Ståhlberg. The rebellious wife of the president, Ester Ståhlberg, refuses to leave her husband even in a difficult situation, but instead insists on getting into the back seat of the car with the assassins. An incredible journey begins through a troubled Finland, where rumors and history are intertwined – and it is still not known what was true and what was fiction about the president's ride.
