The North Satakunta on the Waves of Green Transition project and the Kirkkokallio Eco-Industrial Park are presented on the website of the European Commission Representation in Finland. The City of Kankaanpää is a partner in the project.

The article describes how the project led by Satakunta University of Applied Sciences has produced information of general interest for the region, developed cooperation between different actors, and strengthened the faith of companies, employees, and young people in the future. The project, which began at the end of 2023, has involved three different networks: the Kirkkokallio Eco-Industrial Park located on Honkajoki in Kankaanpää, the construction products industry business network, and the GEO learning environment. The project ends in June 2026.

The project also produced a study on the heat distribution of the Kirkkokallio eco-industrial park. Although Kirkkokallio is a pioneer in the utilization of waste heat, the area has over 37,000 megawatt hours of it available annually. According to the study, waste heat could be utilized, for example, in a district heating network or in new industrial processes.
