This year, the result of the participatory budgeting vote was clear, as the proposal to hire young people to organize recreational activities for the elderly in care units received by far the most points. The 20,000 euro allocation will be used in accordance with the vote result, and the Kankaanpää 4H Association has been selected to implement the service. The recreational activities will start in June and will be organized according to the action plan until the end of 2026.
Last year's participatory budgeting vote was won by the proposal "Organize more cultural events in Kankaanpää (for example, concerts and an open-air film event)." The majority of the money allocated for the events was distributed to organizers selected through an application process.
The first music event related to participatory budgeting is a family-friendly event organized by the Kankaanpää Polar Bears on May 23rd at the ice rink starting at 15 p.m. Trough cracks.
