Finland's happiest and most touching Christmas card campaign collected no fewer than 761 Christmas cards for the elderly in Kankaanpää. The creative caring community Siskot ja Simot and its partners organized a nationwide Christmas Mail for the Elderly campaign from November 13.11 to December 4.12.2023, 137 simultaneously in XNUMX locations.

Kankaanpää participated in the campaign for the fourth time and, as in previous years, a new record was once again set in the number of cards. The number of cards, 761, was so large that it was enough to be distributed to the clients of housing service units and home care in the entire North Satakunta region.

– In addition to the residents of Kankaanpää, the cards were also received by the elderly in Jämijärvi, Karvia, Siikainen, Pomarkku and Merikarvia. Thanks to the creators of the cards, our city's libraries for receiving the cards and the Satakunta welfare area for distributing them. It was a pleasure to be part of such a warm-hearted campaign, says the Marketing and Communications Manager of the City of Kankaanpää Leena Kuusimäki.

Nationwide, the Christmas Mail for the Elderly campaign collected a total of 90 Christmas cards this year.

– The number of Christmas cards sent is impressive. It shows that people want to make strangers happy, experience community and spread Christmas joy around them, Siskoji ja Simoje executive director Eero Väisänen says.

In addition to 137 localities, the partners of the Christmas Post for the Elderly campaign were the Association of Local and Regional Authorities, the Association of Citizens' Colleges and the Citizens' Arena.
