When necessary, electricity distribution companies limit electricity consumption by making cyclic outages for their customers in accordance with the regulations of Fingrid, the main grid company responsible for the electricity grid system. Cyclic outages are controlled, limited in scope and last approximately one hour. The city of Kankaanpää has prepared for the situation by listing its critical sites and agreeing on possible measures in cooperation with Vatajankoski Sähköverkko Oy.
Vatajankoski Sähköverkko Oy notifies its customers whose phone numbers are in their system of planned power outages in advance by text message. The city of Kankaanpää relies on the information it receives from Vatajankoski in its communications and shares it further on its own channels.
