Privacy Policy

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force in May 2016 and will apply nationally from 25 May 2018. The GDPR applies to the processing of personal data in both the public and private sectors. The aim of the regulation is to ensure that people's right to the protection of their personal data, and thus their right to privacy, is also fulfilled in the digital age. Organisations have the responsibility to demonstrate that the law is being complied with.

The City of Kankaanpää has prepared for the regulation by clarifying its instructions and training those who handle personal data in the city organization. We act responsibly in terms of data protection and ensure that no one needs to worry about the misuse of their information.

The city's data protection officer is Katja Johansson. In addition, the city's organization includes a data protection and information security group appointed by the mayor.

Checking your own information

If necessary, you can check your information either by sending an email [email protected] or by visiting the City Hall information desk in person, Kuninkaanlähteenkatu 12. Please use the attached forms to make a request for information. Please note that you must identify yourself (show your driver's license, passport or photo ID) to the Data Protection Officer or the City's information desk before providing information.
