Personnel program
In 2013, Kankaanpää drew up a personnel program to support the implementation of the city's strategy. The personnel program guides the entire personnel work of the city of Kankaanpää. Personnel and human resource management are related to the city's operational and financial goals. Each employee knows the responsibilities of their job and understands their own role as part of the whole (work community skills/subordinate skills). Everyone contributes to the workplace atmosphere and cooperation. Work communities encourage initiative, work development and giving feedback. The goals, methods and indicators defined in the program are used in each service center.
The focus areas of the personnel program are:

Personnel financial statements
The implementation of the personnel program is monitored annually in connection with the financial statements. The personnel financial statements supplement the official financial statements. They provide information on, among other things, the structure of the personnel, the use of working time, absences, competence and its development.

Working Life Award
In 2015, the city of Kankaanpää received the Working Life Award from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Finnish National Innovation Fund Sitra. The Working Life Award is given to workplaces, researchers or projects that have made significant contributions to the continued employment and coping of older workers. The aim of the recognition award is to influence attitudes and contribute to maintaining a societal debate on extending working careers and coping with work for older workers.
