The boards are institutions under the city government, each of which carries out tasks within its own field of activity. The board chairs are elected from among the councilors. The council elects a chair and vice-chair from among the board members. Each member has a personal deputy. The boards are the vitality board, the culture and leisure board, the education board, the technical board, the urban planning board and the environment and health board. Each board has a chair and eight members. There is also a five-member inspection board.

City audit committee

According to Section 71 of the Local Government Act, the council shall appoint an audit committee to organize the audit of the administration and finances for the years corresponding to its term of office. The chairman and vice-chairman of the committee shall be councellors. The City Audit Committee shall prepare the main tasks of the council, matters concerning the audit of administration and finances, and assess whether the operational and financial objectives set by the council have been achieved.

The Audit Committee has five members, from whom the council elects the chairman and vice-chairman of the committee. The chairman and vice-chairman must be authorized representatives. Each member has a personal deputy.
