Hörhiäinen is the name of the Kankaanpää people for an active, proactive, positive person who creates energy around them. The Hörhiäinen of the year is chosen in connection with the annual Hörhiäisviikko event. The Hörhiäis element is used in a variety of ways in the city's communications and marketing materials. Other parties can use it in their marketing related to Hörhiäisviikko. Below is the Hörhiäis element:
Slogan
The slogan based on the Kankaanpää urban strategy is “Intelligence, art and well-being live with us.” Read more about the background of the slogan:
Arms
The coat of arms of Kankaanpää is inspired by the early days of the municipality's settlement, which the coat of arms depicts in the middle of forest areas. At the same time, it also refers to the name of Kankaanpää. The explanation of the coat of arms is: "on a blue field, a silver log with a flame-shaped top, with a golden pine tree standing as a chief." The coat of arms was designed by Carolus Lindberg, and it was approved for use on 12 October 1951. Source: Finnish municipal coats of arms, p. 118. Finnish Local and Regional Authorities Association, 1982.
The city's coat of arms is used alone and is not accompanied by any other symbols. The coat of arms is used only in appropriate and dignified contexts.
