Kankaanpää City Library is currently recruiting, namely a messenger recruitment!
Starting in May Library Facilitators for Villages and Alleys project The idea was conceived by the team where the residents of the municipality could participate in the marketing of library services and the hobby of reading by sharing information about the library's services, their own favorite books, and even giving tips on good summer reading!
– The aim of this project is to increase the use of library services by making the library more familiar and accessible. Who better to market the library and reading than a customer who actively uses the library, says the library's executive director Marjut Tiisala.
According to Tiisala, various upheavals in society challenge people's well-being. The library and its services, in turn, create well-being. The more people a library reaches with its services, the more impactful its operations will be.
Library ambassadors are sought from all age groups, from children to the elderly. Ambassadors are expected to be active users of social media and are also offered support and training. Ambassadors can also volunteer at various events within the library.
-It would be nice if the ambassadors were a close-knit group that would also meet regularly to discuss content together and participate in various activities. Reading and literature unite people regardless of age. Families can also act as ambassadors, project coordinator Heli Puputti says.
The activity is primarily based on social media platforms, where the ambassadors are expected to share their reading hobby and other uses of the library's services through pictures, words and videos. The project also created its own hashtag, or topic identifier. The identifier became #libraryoflife.
-The subject identifier describes the coverage of library services well. From baby to grandfather, the library offers information, experiences, support and help at different stages of life. The Finnish library network with its free services is unique and worth all the marketing, Puputti sums up.
The search for ambassadors is ongoing and will continue until the end of June. Join the happy crowd and fill out the application form at: https://link.webropol.com/s/kirjastolahettilaat.
Library facades for villages and alleys – project has received funding from the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southwest Finland and its goal is to increase the awareness and accessibility of library services, and to reach new customers, for example from outside urban areas. In addition to the Kankaanpää Main Library and Honkajoki Library, the Karvia Library is also involved in the project.
