Experience the GEO learning environment this summer

Welcome the whole family to explore the GEO learning environment in Honkajoki, Kankaanpää, which will take you on a journey into diverse nature! Open to the public throughout the summer of 2024 without admission fee.

At the learning center, you can, for example, jump on a fish spawning journey using virtual reality goggles, observe the movements of the water using an augmented reality sandbox, and peek at the diversity of fauna in a more traditional exhibit. Staff will be on hand to guide you through the use of the equipment and give you tips on nearby excursion destinations.

  • Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 15 pm from 18.6 June to 1.8 August (except Thursday 27.6 June, when the centre is closed)
  • Also open on Saturday 27.7 July, Honkajoki Market Day, 10 am–15 pm.

Parking: during summer opening hours in the yard of Honkajoki Upper Secondary School and at the staff electricity pole spaces. There is also parking space in the yard of Honkala Community Centre.

The GEO learning environment operating in connection with Honkajoki Upper Secondary School has been created specifically for the needs of environmental education for educational institutions and school groups. Learn more To the GEO learning environment here.

The GEO learning environment is being developed as part of the Northern Satakunta on the Waves of Green Transition project led by SAMK, which is funded by the EU's Just Transition Fund JTF and the Satakunta Regional Council.
