The gyms at Kankaanpää schools are available for use by clubs and associations in the area outside of school hours. There are gyms at Kangasmetsä and Keskusta schools and Co-educational Upper Secondary School.

MOVE-areena is a sports hall located near the sports centre (Kuninkaanlähteenkatu 7), where you can play a variety of sports, such as tennis, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, ping-pong, etc. In addition, the premises are rented out for various events. You cannot book slots for MOVE-areena from the sports centre.

Senior Park
An outdoor gym for seniors in Myllymäki, as well as 2 bocce courts + a chess table. The park is open to all users, despite its name.

Outdoor gym
The outdoor gym is located next to the sports center, near the training fields. The equipment allows you to train different muscle groups in a variety of ways. The equipment has clear instructions and is accessible. Some of the equipment is also suitable for wheelchair users.

Rise Sports Park
The stairs are located next to the new water tower. Next to the stairs there is a sledding hill for children in winter and a cross-country ski trail for keen skiers.

Lion's Stairs
Located between Kankaanpää Co-educational Upper Secondary School and the cemetery, “Monttu” has the Lions Stairs, built by Lions Clubs and local entrepreneurs. The 50 steps made of wood offer challenges for both young and older exercise enthusiasts. The stairs offer a variety of exercise options.

Kangasmetsä school
The school yard area provides a versatile place to spend time or do hobbies, from families with children to those who are always in motion. An outdoor gym funded by the Lions Club, where you can do bodyweight exercises, develop muscle fitness and balance. There are three playing fields, one of which is a mini-arena. The hobby area has various swings, a basketball wall and a ping-pong table.
Keskusta school
The sports ground at the school in the city centre provides families with children and schoolchildren with a safe place to spend time with meaningful activities. The playground has playing fields and play cages for small games, as well as a large climbing frame and various swings. The playing rink is frozen in winter for ice skating.

Niinisalo Garrison Sports Park, Crossfit Center
The Crossfit area offers a variety of outdoor exercise options. It is possible to develop physical fitness and strength training with high-quality equipment.
Lapset's modern strength training platform includes;
-metal frame with pull-up bars, rings and a punching bag, among other things
-plate weights, kettlebells, bars and bars used to beat car tires

Niinisalo Garrison Sports Park, Tahdonportaat
The 23rd "stairs of will" made of wood offer challenges for both young and older exercise enthusiasts. The stairs offer the opportunity for versatile training.
Nearby, it is possible to try out the environmentally demanding 1,5-kilometer-long chewing track marked with signboards, for example by testing hill pulls or brisk hiking.

There are three frisbee golf courses in the Kankaanpää area. In the city centre area, there is a 9-hole park course in Myllymäki suitable for beginners, a 9-hole course in Honkajoki also suitable for beginners, and an 18-hole racing course starts at the Viidentienristeys intersection, where several Finnish Frisbee Golf Association competitions have been organised.

Rent pucks for a day from the sports center (1 €/day)! If the pucks are lost, we will have to charge the price of the lost puck when returning it.

Kankaanpää is located, as its name suggests, at the ends of the Kankaan rivers. Pohjankangas and Hämeenkangas meet in Kankaanpää. Both Kankaan areas are actively used by the Niinisalo garrison, but Hämeenkangas is also a versatile hobby and hiking area.
Hämeenkangas stretches from Kankaanpää all the way to Jämijärvi and Ikaalinen. Hämeenkangas has a network of trails marked with symbols, stretching for several tens of kilometers. In the area you can walk on nature trails, go on excursions, hike, cycle, ski and ride horses, as well as pick berries and mushrooms. There is also an outdoor swimming pool in the Kuninkaanlähde caravan park located in the area.

Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas Geopark project
Kankaanpää and other municipalities in our region are involved in a project that aims to apply for UNESCO international Geopark status for the Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas Geopark area. Geopark is an international joint brand of unique geological sites. Geoparks aim to promote geotourism, the preservation of geological heritage, science education and sustainable business. Finland currently has one Geopark area with international status, Rokua UNESCO Global Geopark. The main geological theme of the Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas Geopark area is the bog. Kankaanpää is an active orienteering town. The local orienteering club Kankaanpään Suunnistajat offers many opportunities to practice the sport and organizes fitness orienteering in the summer.

Mobo – Mobile Navigation
Mobo navigation is a modern version of fixed waypoints and works on Windows Phone, Android and iPhone. You can download the app for free from the app store.
The Kankaanpää Mobo orienteering areas are located in the terrain of the sports center and the Rehabilitation Center. The courses are particularly suitable for schoolchildren and those who are less experienced in orienteering. Some of the Rehabilitation Center's controls are located for wheelchair users. In Mobo orienteering, the map and compass are displayed on the phone. Control specifications can be viewed by clicking and stamping is done by "photographing" the QR code. Come and take a look!
