Swimming skills are a key civic skill that promotes children's safety, well-being and an active lifestyle. The importance of swimming skills is particularly emphasized in Finland, where proximity to water bodies is part of the everyday environment.
It has been observed that the swimming skills of children and young people have declined, which is why it is justified to invest in early learning and activating families.
The goal of the City of Kankaanpää is to promote children's swimming skills and increase family exercise with a low threshold.
The city of Kankaanpää offers children in the target group the opportunity to use the swimming pool free of charge together with their guardian. The benefit lowers the participation threshold and encourages families to participate in the activity together.
Swimming benefit content
- Preschoolers and first graders are granted 10 free swimming lessons.
- Free admission applies to one child and one guardian at a time when they come together
- The benefit is valid from the beginning of September to the end of June.
