Beaches and swimming places
There are beaches and swimming spots in Kankaanpää, both in the city center and in the villages. There is also something for dogs!

Ruokojärvi Beach
Ruokojärvi beach, located near the city center, is not called the “Riviera” for nothing. It is a beautiful and green area where you can do many different activities in addition to swimming. The beach has a beach volleyball court, a playground for children and large grassy areas where you can exercise, throw a frisbee, do yoga or just enjoy and relax. The beach is pleasantly shallow and suitable for children. The Riviera has two piers, with two swimming lanes between them. In winter, the beach also has a winter swimming area. The winter swimming area is managed by: Talviuinti Kankaanpää ry.

Venesjärvi Beach
Venesjärvi beach has a large pier and a grassy area where you can relax with a larger group. The beach is suitable for families with children, as the beach deepens slowly and has a sandy bottom. There are toilets and changing rooms on the beach. There is a small slide for children in the water near the beach.

Niinisalo beach
The beach on the shore of Lake Valkiajärvi is suitable for families with children, as the beach deepens slowly and has a sandy bottom. The lake is small, so it also warms up quickly. The beach has a climbing frame, a slide, a pier, a beach hut and a small changing room.

Vihteljärvi beach
Vihteljärvi beach on the shore of Lake Kaukojärvi has a sandy bottom and gets deeper quite steeply. Clothes can be changed in the changing rooms on the beach. There is also a beach hut for use.

There is one official dog swimming beach in Kankaanpää. Dogs can swim at the old swimming beach located east of Lake Ruokojärvi in Kankaanpää, which you turn off from Laviantie. When driving from the traffic light junction in the direction of Lavia, the exit is approximately 400 meters away. Address: Laviantie 269, 38700 Kankaanpää

About ten kilometers from the city center is the Kuninkaanlähde area, familiar to caravanners, whose outdoor swimming pool is also open to the general public in the summer. The Kuninkaanlähde swimming pool has a 25-meter-long heated swimming pool with a maximum depth of 2,5 meters. The swimming pool also has a shallow heated children's pool and a 56-meter-long slide.
