Exhibitions
The museum presents the history of the Kankaanpää region in its permanent exhibitions, art from the art collection of Kauko and Sinikka Räikke, the donated collection of Reima Oy and the art collection of the city of Kankaanpää. In the Honkajoki district of Kankaanpää there is a small local history museum, which displays peasant artifacts from Honkajoki and the surrounding area.
In addition, each year, exhibitions are presented on current themes in cultural history and art, researching and utilizing the museum's collections.
Since the 1970s, the Kankaanpää City Museum has collected, recorded and researched the material and spiritual cultural heritage of the area. Information is provided to the public through exhibitions, an information service and various events. The Taidekehä, a collection of public sculptures in the Kankaanpää city centre, is also part of the museum's responsibilities.
The city museum in Niinisalo, Kankaanpää, operates in a former elementary school building near Highway 23.
