Youth

Youth work and policy are among the tasks of the municipality, which the municipality implements in cooperation with other youth sector actors. Youth work services can also be implemented regionally in cooperation between municipalities. The Ministry of Education and Culture supports municipal youth work and its development with government transfers and grants.

The task of youth work is to produce, support and develop youth services and to work to prevent the exclusion of young people in cooperation with various parties.

The task of special youth work is to prevent and reduce substance use by influencing availability, information and attitudes, patterns of use, as well as the circumstances that create problem use and the culture that supports it.
