The city of Kankaanpää wants to invest in cooperation with associations. Kankaanpää is participating in the SataKylät ry project in 2019-2020, which aims to produce an association program for six municipalities in Satakunta in cooperation with the municipality. The project is funded by the Rural Development Fund.

The association program practically spells out the goals and measures that are intended to develop cooperation/partnership between the public sector and the third sector in the long term, for example in terms of services. The program can collect information on common meeting spaces and other resources, the current state and possibilities of cooperation, common goals for maintaining/increasing the vitality of the municipality, etc.

The Kankaanpää City Council approved the “Syketä to Kankaanpää” – Kankaanpää Association Program at its meeting on June 15, 2020 (KHALL 15.06.2020 § 179)

When the association program is completed in the summer of 2020, it is already known that there will be a need to update the association program during 2021 when the municipality of Honkajoki becomes part of the city of Kankaanpää.
