The Outsider Art Circle seminar, which will be held in the visual arts city of Kankaanpää on Tuesday, October 27.10.2020, 14.00, from 16.00:18 PM to 21.11:XNUMX PM, will highlight outsider art from Satakunta and related phenomena. On the evening of the seminar, at XNUMX:XNUMX PM, the Outsider Art Circle exhibition will open at the Kankaanpää gallery, presenting the works of ITE artists and special artists working in the Satakunta area until November XNUMX.

The best-known forms of outsider art in Finland are ITE art and art by artists with special needs. In the seminar to be held in Kankaanpääsali Brother Granö tells about the ongoing survey of Satakunta's ITE art. Granö's first personal observations of Satakunta's contemporary folk art date back to the mid-1980s. Cultural Wellbeing Expert Lisa Laitinen will talk in a seminar about the well-being effects of art, especially from the perspective of special groups. Saija Mustaniemi in turn presents the Kankaanpää Art Circle's Ecomuseum project.
The seminar will be opened by the Mayor of Kankaanpää. Mika Hatanpää. MEKA TV's video "Special Art School" will be shown at the opening.
