In recent days, there have been corona cases at Pohjanlinna School in Kankaanpää, but fewer than 5 cases. There are a large number of possible exposures and those who have been in close contact are currently being investigated by PoSa's infection tracers. Infection tracing has become congested because a large number of people are involved: students from numerous different classes and school staff. In addition, there are mass exposures in Kankaanpää
elsewhere at the same time.
Information is distributed to families primarily through Wilma.
Organizing teaching at the school has become more difficult because the situation affects several classes and students have now been in both face-to-face and distance learning. This, along with the difficulty of tracing infections, has created such great challenges that in order to ensure good teaching and break chains of infection, it has been decided today to move teaching at Pohjanlinna School to distance learning from 19.8 August to 3.9 September. Students with special support can continue in face-to-face learning if they have not been quarantined.
The coronavirus infections are related to two infection chains observed in Kankaanpää in recent days. The infections have not occurred at school, but in other contacts. In general, no sensitive spread of coronavirus has been observed in schools, the infections have almost always occurred during free time, in other environments.
Corona vaccinations will continue even during remote school hours. It is recommended that asymptomatic people aged 12 and over who have not been ordered to quarantine continue to actively seek vaccinations. Previously booked vaccination appointments and vaccination events are valid. It is important for those who have been absent to remember to cancel their appointments.
