Press release 17.8.2021

The latest results from the screening tests taken on Sunday, August 15.8th were completed on Monday evening.

A total of less than five students from Pohjanlinna and Keskusta schools have tested positive for Covid-19. This has led to entire classes, individual students and teachers being quarantined. Infection tracers have been working actively to gain a comprehensive picture of the situation and prevent the spread of the infection.

All students in the quarantined classes were directed to the so-called first samples. The results of these tests have been received, and there have been no new positive responses. The possible shortening of the quarantine will be abandoned. The benefit of shortening the quarantine by a few days will be relatively small. Currently, both corona sampling and infection tracing are congested.

Students will be immediately ordered to quarantine for a period of 10 days without so-called exit samples. Instead, working adults, i.e. teachers and adults working in other workplaces, will be tested on the sixth day after exposure. The new quarantine policy can be applied to them.
All symptomatic people are always tested, meaning even those with mild symptoms should seek testing.
without delay.

PoSa will provide further information about the situation as necessary.
