The Search Team's ship is caught in a mysterious storm and shipwrecked on a tropical island teeming with dinosaurs. They meet Rex, a puppy who has been stranded on the island for years and has become quite the dinosaur expert. When the Search Team's archenemy, Mayor Hanttinen, begins a massive excavation project to exploit the island's natural resources, he accidentally causes a massive dormant volcano to erupt. The pups are drawn into a risky, dino-sized rescue mission of their own, with the goal of stopping Hanttinen before everything on the island is lost forever.
