Exhibitions

6.-30.4. “There is no Hope on this Planet” exhibition at Kankaanpää Gallery (Jämintie 2 D) is an exhibition about space by six artists, Reetta Kallio, Fanni Kestilä, Reetta Levander, Aino Rytkönen, Jenni Välikangas and Antti Kuikka. The exhibition is the first part of a series of exhibitions related to the art school, which presents the work of art school students who graduated in 2019-2020. Organized by Kankaanpää Art Association.

Wed 13.4. and 20.4. Kankaanpää City Museum (Museokatu 10, Niinisalo) open days for visitors from 14-16 pm. The expert of the VIIVA exhibition Maija Anttila, PhD in Architecture, SAFA will be present during the visits. Free admission. Wed 20.4. possibility to come by bus: departure from the market square stop at 13.45:16 pm and return from the museum at XNUMX pm. Organised by the City Museum.

4.-28.5. “Fourteen” is an exhibition by Uljas Kaitala, Victoria Torboli and Joona Heikkilä at the Kankaanpää gallery. It is the second part of a series of exhibitions related to the art school, featuring students from the Kankaanpää art school. Organised by the Kankaanpää Art Association.

The Demolition House 19.5 exhibition, which opens its doors to the public on Thursday 14 May at 2022 pm, is an art project developed in collaboration with art students at SAMK Kankaanpää and the City of Kankaanpää, in which art takes over a detached house located at Tannerinkatu 5. The construction of the exhibition mainly uses recycled materials. The exhibition's closing ceremony will be held during the Hörhiäis Week.

Other events

22.-24.4. Ramppikuume – a national youth theatre event. Ramppikuume is a national youth theatre event, which is held annually in Kankaanpää. The event consists of training workshops and a performance review. Ramppikuume is being held for the 25th time this year and is aimed at young people aged 13-20. Organised by the Finnish Youth Association, the City of Kankaanpää and the Kankaanpää Youth Association.

Tue 26.4. non-fiction writer Milla Peltonen at Honkajoki Library (Puistotie 6) from 18-19 pm. The subjects of Virtolainen Peltonen's books have included Hannu Salama, hermits and gold diggers. Stories about atypical lifestyles. Free admission. Organized by Honkajoki Library, a project of the Southwest Finland Association of the Finnish Cultural Institute.

Wed 27.4. detective storyteller Arttu Tuominen in Kankaanpääsali at 18 pm. Tuominen, who lives in Pori, writes dark, hard-hitting crime novels. He creates a strong voice for both sides of the law, human and recognizable. The event can also be watched live on the Kankaanpää City YouTube channel and two weeks after the event. Free admission. Organized by Kankaanpää City Library, in cooperation with Europe Direct Pohjois-Satakunta.

The Puumerkki brick workshops will be held at Petäjä-opisto (formerly the dental center, Jämintie 2 C). The workshops are open from 11 am to 14 pm on five days: Thu 12.5., Sat 14.5., Thu 19.5., Sat 21.5. and Sat 28.5. Organised by the Kankaanpää Art Association.
