Well-being from art or art from well-being?
The artworks of artists Ulla Karsikkaan and Henri Ijäs were inaugurated on May 21.5.2021, 14 at XNUMX p.m. to delight the customers of Kankaanpää's basic service Tapala and as part of Taidekehä.
Due to gathering restrictions, the event was held without an audience and the stream can be viewed on Kankaanpää's YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/dzZpn_tZBn0
The percent art principle was implemented in the expansion and renovation project of the Tapala physiotherapy and dental clinic at the Kankaanpää basic service center, and for example, the placement of the works in the lobby had already been taken into account in the architectural design led by architect Jorma Keskikiikonen of Motiivi Oy. The city of Kankaanpää habitually implements the percent art principle in construction projects. Art is seen as an important part of the comfort of the environment and buildings. The works were commissioned from visual artists Ulla Karsikas and Henri Ijäs in the project.
