The early childhood education department of the city of Kankaanpää has an open position for a temporary project worker as a resource specialist teacher in early childhood education for the period 1.8.2022 – 31.12.2023.

The early childhood education of the city of Kankaanpää has received special state assistance for the renewal of child support under the Early Childhood Education Act for the years 2022–2023. An early childhood education special education teacher will be hired with project funding to support the introduction of three-level support, strengthen early childhood education special education, and develop methods of strong general support. Kankaanpää early childhood education currently has three rotating early childhood education special education teachers, in whose team the resource special education teacher will work.

There are six municipal and two private daycare centers and family daycare in Kankaanpää. There are approximately 500 children in the early childhood education program. The project aims to utilize the expertise of special education teachers in an optimal way by developing new methods of operation. The tasks of the special education teachers in the team will be adjusted to reflect the priorities of the support needs. As a project worker, you will have the opportunity to influence the implementation of the project.

We expect you to have strong expertise in early childhood special education, initiative and a positive attitude towards development. As a project worker, you need the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary network.

The qualification requirement for a fixed-term position as a special education teacher in early childhood education is the following qualifications in accordance with Section 540 of the Early Childhood Education Act 2018/30:
1) qualification for the position of early childhood education teacher, in addition to which studies providing professional qualifications for special education tasks, as provided for by Government decree, have been completed; or
2) Master of Education with a major in special education (early childhood special education teacher training).

The position will be subject to a four-month probationary period. Before starting work, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Investigation of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).

Salary according to OVTES €2799,19 / month and working hours 38 h 15 min / week.
