Schools
In Kankaanpää, you can start your school path at 6 different schools, two of which are in the Kankaanpää city center and four in other districts and villages. Upper secondary school is at Pohjanlinna School, and in the Honkajoki area at a co-educational school.
The student has the right to attend his/her local school. The city of Kankaanpää is divided into so-called local school areas. The student's local school is the grammar school of the city's education service in whose local school area he/she lives. The child's local school is already marked on the school registration form.
There is one local school district in the city centre, which has two schools: Keskusta School and Kangasmetsä School. Students in the city centre area have the right to attend one of these schools. As a rule, the eastern districts of the city centre belong to Kangasmetsä School and the western districts to Keskusta School. The child's local school is also already marked on the registration form for students in the city centre area. The school principals decide on the admission of students and inform homes of this by letter.
